We regret to learn of the death, in Raleigh, early yesterday morning, of Reu. A. A. Boshamer, Pastor ot Eden- ton Street M. K Church, in that city, and a gentleman well known and greatly beloved here, where he served Fifth Street M. E. Church yery acceptably from 1870 to 1872. The Raleijrb, Visi tor says: It is with pain we announce the death of this distinguished divine, which took place at his residence in this city, be tween the hours of 12 and 1 o clock this morning, lie nad been ill lor some time w-w a a t m . m with an attack of typhoid fever from the effects of which, although he at times be came better, his system gave way. Mr. Boshamer was in the 35th year of his age and had been pastor of the Eden- ton Street Methodist church since the first of January last. During his minis try here, he has gained many warm and admiring friends, not only among his own immediate sect, but from those of all denominations and classes. He was a pure, unassuming christian, de voted to the interests of his charge. As a man of letters, he had but' few equals of his age in North Carolina, while his powers ot oratory were the usi- versal themes of commendation. No man was more davoted to duty tnan this servant of God. The last public act of his life was to arise from bis sick bed and aid in txe ' ceremonies attendant upon laying the corner stone of the new edifice for his congregation. Mr. Boshamer has been twice married. having espoused his last wife in the early part of the present year. He leaves a daughter by his first marriage. His father resided with him, and this sad affliction will be peculiarly afHicting tol his aged heart. I aged Oaarteriy Meetings Wilmington District, Methodist Church, South. Fourth round.
